How To Get To The Cinemas
Balmoral Cineplex is located at 168 Oxford Street, Bulimba.
Hawthorne Cinema is located at 261 Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne.
South Bank Cineplex is located at 167 Grey Street, South Bank.
Victoria Point is located at 27 Bunker Road, Victoria Point.
Nerang Cineplex is located at 52 Price Street, Nerang.
All cinemas are easily accessible by car and public transport.
How to get to the Hawthorne cinemas:
Access by Car
The Hawthorne Cinemas are conveniently located halfway along Hawthorne Road, Hawthorne, between Dutton and Orchard Streets. There is a pedestrian crossing directly outside the foyer. Take a left turn off Wynnum Road if travelling from the City. It's only a ten minute drive from the CBD taking the Story Bridge or the Captain Cook Bridge (turn off at Vulture Street)! Check the map above or the Hawthorne Road map in your UBD.
Car Parking is on-street around the Hawthorne Cinemas with plenty of spaces alongside the huge park next to the cinemas. Please be aware that there are some signed "No Parking" spaces at the front of the Cinemas and outside the local shops. Police regularly patrol the area so don't ignore them!
Buses travel from the City, Cannon Hill and Fortitude Valley regularly. For buses to the Hawthorne Cinemas you need to take one that sets down on Riding Road and then walk through the park or down Orchard Street to Hawthorne Road.
Hawthorne Cinemas are serviced by Citycat to the Hawthorne stop and a ten minute walk along Lindsay Street will bring you to our door.
Hawthorne Cinemas is located approximately a 20 minute walk from Morningside Train Station on the Cleveland line.
How to get to the Balmoral cinemas:
Access by Car
The Balmoral Cineplex is conveniently located in Oxford Street in the trendy suburb of Bulimba, nestled amongst the many cafes and restaurants between Pine and Wambool Streets. Follow Hawthorne Road or Riding Road from the City, and Lytton Road from southern suburbs (turn off Lytton Road / Murrarie form the Gateway Arterial Road) to the Oxford Street roundabout. Then turn into Oxford Street next to the Shell Garage.
Car Parking is available in two locations for cinema patrons. First, there is undercover car parking on Oxford Street if you turn right directly after the "Otello on Oxford" restaurant. Second, there is parking above the cinema accessible from Pine Street. Take the second driveway on the left when turning right from Oxford Street into Pine Street, just before you reach the cinemas. When parking on top of the cinemas there are steps leading down to Oxford Street. There are designated Disabled parking spaces in the undercover car park that we ask you to respectfully leave for those who need them. There are over 120 spaces in total.
Buses travel from the City, Cannon Hill and Fortitude Valley regularly. For buses to the Balmoral Cineplex you need to take one that sets down on Oxford Street, Bulimba and get off near "Oxford 152". Alternately you can get off next to the "TAB" and Library on Riding Road and take the two minute walk down Oxford Street. Alternately, you can catch the 199 from Brunswick Street Stop 207 that will take you to the Teneriffe ferry stop, then take the cross river ferry (see below).
Balmoral Cineplex is serviced by Citycat and cross river ferry to the Bulimba stop. A five minute walk up Oxford Street will bring you to our door.
Balmoral Cinemas about a 35 minute walk from the Morningside train station on the Cleveland line.
How to get to the South Bank 5 cinemas:
Access by Car
South Bank 5 Cinema Complex is located on the corner of Ernest and Grey Streets in South Bank and just like our Balmoral complex is situated in the heart of an entertainment destination for the people of Brisbane and has many restaurants to choose from.
IMPORTANT PARKING UPDATE!
South Bank cinemas has partnered up with SECURE PARKING to offer cinema patrons a great parking deal.
- Weekdays if you park before 4pm you will receive $5 parking for 4 hrs
- Weeknights if you park after 4pm, Weekends & public holidays you will receive parking for a flat rate of $3.
SECURE PARKING is located just a short walk from the cinemas opposite the convention centre. Entrances are available on both Cordelia and Merivale St.
Your parking ticket must be validated at our ticket box as you leave the cinema complex to receive the discount.
Parking is also available directly beneath the cinema. This parking is free up to a maximum time of four hours when you see a film in its entirety. If you exceed this time limit, a charge starting at $35 will apply.
South Bank Cinemas also have very good access to bus stops. In addition to regular bus stops in Merivale, Cordelia, Golchester & Melbourne Street, South Bank Cinemas also have an express free way bus station located on the corner of Colchester & Tribune Streets.
The CityCat terminal is located outside the Riverside Restaurants on the Clem Jones Promenade.
The Cross River Ferry terminal is located at the Boardwalk end of the Clem Jones Promenade.
South Bank Cinemas is located only a few minutes walk from either South Bank or South Brisbane Train Stations. The South Bank Station is accessed off Tribune Street. The South Brisbane Railway Station is accessed via Melbourne Street.
How to get to Victoria Point:
Access by Car
Via Pacific Motorway: Take a left turn onto Beenleigh Redland Bay Road (in the suburb of Logandale), or a right turn if you are travelling from the Gold Coast. Turn left onto Mount Cotton Road. Turn right onto Double Jump Road and continue onto Bunker Road. You will find the Victoria Point complex on your left hand side.
Via Gateway Motorway: Take the exit toward Mount Gravatt Capalaba Road and turn left onto Mount Cotton Road. Turn left at Double Jump Road and continue onto Bunker Road. The Victoria Point complex is on your left hand side.
Victoria Point Cineplex has around 1000 free car spaces. Access to the car park is from Bunker Road or Cleveland Redland Bay Road just before the service station.
There are several options if you are travelling from Brisbane CBD. If you catch a bus from Roma Street or Queenstreet Mall, you will have to change buses at Eight Mile Plains, Mount Gravatt Busway, or Buranda Busway. However, Route 279 will take you directly from Ann Street At City Hall (Stop 11) to Victoria Point Bus Station 'C' opposite the cinema complex.
There are no city cat ferries servicing Victoria Point. However, Victoria Point Cineplex has ferry access to all the major Bay Islands. From the ferry you will then need to take a short bus ride to the cinema. The closest train station to Victoria Point is Cleveland. From the train station there are regular busses that connect with the train that will take you to Victoria Point Cinemas.
